In our classroom, the many arts of language are explored and expressed on a daily basis.   In Language Arts, students are asked to express their creativity and individuality using a variety of forms and for an array of purposes. Language Arts consists of reading, writing, word study, speaking, listening, and viewing.  All of these areas are incorporated into daily tasks.  Reading, writing, and word study are the three main areas of focus. The day is scheduled in individual blocks of each area, however, all three are integrated regularly.  The content studied in the classroom is composed according to students needs, the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards, and the Montgomery Township Fifth Grade Language Arts Curriculum.
