MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF EDUCATION MEMBER VACANCY

 

The date for interested candidates to submit their letter of interest stating their qualifications and a statement as to what they can offer the Board of Education has been extended to Monday, March 25, 2019.

 

A candidate must meet the legal qualifications to serve on a Board of Education.  Those qualifications are:

A Board member must be able to read and write.

A Board member must hold U.S. citizenship and one year's residency in the school district.

A Board member must be registered to vote in the district.

A Board member must not have any interest in any contract with, or claim against, the board.

A Board member must not hold offices as mayor or member of the municipal governing body.

A Board member must not simultaneously hold two elective offices.

A Board member must not be disqualified from membership for the conviction of certain crimes.  (Within 30 days of appointment to the board, a member must undergo a criminal history background investigation through the State Department of Education.)

 

Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest stating their qualifications and a statement as to what they can offer the Board of Education.  The documents must be received no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2019.  Selected candidates for consideration will be interviewed by the Board of Education on April 9, 2019.  All submittals are to be sent or delivered to:
