Dear Senior World Languages students, other Senior polyglots and families,

This Fall, the World Languages Department will again administer qualifying tests for senior students to earn the coveted New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy.  Language proficiency will be assessed via

  • Standards-Based Assessment & Measurement of Proficiency (STAMP)
  • ACTFL Latin Interpretive Reading Assessment (ALIRA)

Detailed information about ALIRA testing for Latin will come at a later date through your Latin teacher.

Language proficiency testing for seniors in French, German, Spanish and Latin classes will be sponsored by the Montgomery High School Department of World Languages. Testing options for students not enrolled in MHS World Languages classes for the STAMP 4S Available Languages are described below.  

ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE TEST BEFORE JANUARY 15.
We recommend that students take the test as soon as possible so as to have time if rescheduling is needed. 

STEP 1.
REMOTE PROCTORING READINESS FOR ALL STUDENTS
The remote proctoring version of the test CAN NOT BE TAKEN WITH CHROMEBOOK or iPADS at home.  Students require access to PC, MAC, computer or laptop and must assure they have the technological ability to take the test at home. Please follow the link below which provides an embedded technology check and informational video:  Avant Remote Proctoring information Face Verification is no longer required.  Make sure to review in detail the Technology Guide for Remote Testing including taking the Sample Test.

Alternative arrangements will be made for students who do not meet the technical requirements for remote proctoring.
