• MHS' Skybox Featured on NJTV's "Classroom Close-up"

NJTV's "Classroom Close-Up, N.J." television program brought their production crews to Montgomery High School on Wednesday, October 21st to film a segment that will be aired on NJTV:
    • December 27, 2015
    • January 2, 2016
    • January 31, 2016
    • February 6, 2016

The production crew began their day filming several instructional sessions in Skybox, then later moved to the MHS media center where they interviewed several Skybox students, Supervisor Joanne Tonkin, Transition Coordinator Megan Mastil, MHS Principal Paul Popadiuk and Skybox instructor Audrey Rosenthal.  The filming concluded with footage of Skybox students “on the job” during their work studies.

Last January, MTEA President Debra O’Reilly, arranged a visit with NJEA Vice President Marie Blistan to showcase Montgomery’s self-contained special education program called the “Skybox”.  Mrs. Blistan was so impressed with the program, she wanted to feature Skybox on their television show.

“Classroom Close-Up”, now in its 22nd season, airs on NJTV every Sunday at 7:30 am, 12:30 pm and 7:30pm; it also airs on Saturdays at 5:30 am.  NJTV can be found on Comcast channels 23 & 800 (HD), and after initial airing can be viewed on their website at http://www.classroomcloseup.org.  It is the only half-hour program in the country devoted to featuring the positive things happening in public schools.
