It was a pleasure meeting with each of you to discuss your child’s progress!

 In reading, we will continue on with the skills needed to read bigger books! The focus will be on fluency, noticing figurative language as we read, and tracking longer books. This week, we will celebrate our realistic fiction stories.  Our next writing unit will be Writing About Reading. In this unit, children are writing letters about a character they love. They will learn to expand these letters by adding their opinions about favorite parts, pictures, the title, or by retelling a part of the book that helps the reader understand their opinion. 

Our next math unit will be Unit 7,.

In social studies, we are completing our Montgomery community unit.

Next, we will begin our final unit, Living Things. In this unit we will grow plants, discover the pollination process and the role of the bee.
